It is hard to believe I have served more than 16 years in the professoriate. During my time as a faculty member at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, George Mason University, and Teachers College, Columbia University, I have enjoyed working with incredibly inspiring Master’s and doctoral students - many of whom also serve as dedicated teachers, school and non-profit leaders, policy analysts, and scholar-activists, reflecting a rich diversity of educational backgrounds, perspectives, and interests.

Currently at Teachers College, I teach, mentor, and advise doctoral students whose research areas include: education leadership, education policy, politics of education, sociology of education, philosophy of education, social studies, and curriculum and teaching.

One of the greatest joys of my profession is being invited to teach in places like Melbourne, Australia (Monash University), Durban, South Africa (UKZN), and Beijing, China - experiences that are both inspiring and humbling when one recognizes the limitations of their cultural worldview and perspective.
